Welcome
The Moon Rhythm Women's Circle supports us to each explore our human experience through the map of archetypal life areas described by the zodiac.
In the spirit of circle sharing we come to hear and be heard. Serene. Safe. Secure. Our circle holds you in accountability through witnessed sharing and circle connection.
Facilitated and skilfully held by Erin Young, insights to the zodiac archetypes of the coming new moon are offered.
Our circle builds community, greater harmony with nature cycles, & self-knowing. The collective wisdom is profound.
We withhold from ‘fixing’ each other; instead acknowledging and observing. Accountability is woven into the threads of our circles, month to month.
By connecting to our monthly life goals and planting intention ‘seeds’ for these, we take responsibility for harvesting the 'fruits', living with more fulfilment - step by step, piece by piece.
Background of the circle
Known as the Doonan New Moon Women’s Circle for the first 5 years, this circle started in May 2015 as a response to my/Erin's desire to sit with women to ‘hear and be heard’. The circle has been gathering monthly since then, bringing together local women on the Sunshine Coast who also want to see others in their genuine feminine selves, and be seen in their genuine feminine selves.
The circle’s first home was a Shambhala Farm in Doonan on the Taurus new moon in 2015. We migrated and gathered in different women’s homes for a year a two before settling into our regular and beloved home at The Yurt in Verrierdale. The circle's name evolved to Moon Rhythm Women's Circle in January 2020.
Framework of the circle
The focus of the circle is support us each to explore our human experience through the map of the zodiac, guided by the new moon. The zodiac describes a set of archetypal life areas experienced by each human, that include our:
self identity and sense of action,
values, resources luxury and pleasure,
communication and thinking styles,
home and nurturing style,
inner child, expression and play,
sacred service, cleansing and daily practice,
relationship, balance and justice,
sex, death, magic and other people’s money,
philosophy and adventure,
work ethic and public standing,
community, altruism and uniqueness, and
our spirituality, cosmology and creativity.
The new moon provides an opportunity to ‘plant seeds of intention’ in our lives around these various aspects. The new moon is a deep, internal place that is introspective and still; similar to the winter solstice time of the year.
By tapping into our desires for each of these life areas, and planting intention seeds for these, we align with the planetary pulse of the cosmos and take responsibility for living a more fulfilling life - step by step, piece by piece. The monthly cycle that follows is a powerful time for seeing your intentions develop and fruit into desired outcomes.
How the circle works
Our circle starts with an opening mediation to presence us together in the space. A short opening round follows, helping us arrive fully and leave behind distractions. We light our individual candles to invite ourselves in and place special objects in our central altar if we choose.
The circle receives an informative description and exploration of the zodiac energy for the coming new moon. This brings together various elements and aspects of how you can relate to the zodiac energy, and provides cues on what type of intentions might be useful.
A deeper, longer sharing round of the circle then happens. Each woman shares her response to the traits of the new moon energy, and muses about what her new moon intentions may be. This is usually a more personal sharing; one that is genuine, vulnerable, and witnessed by the soft and listening hearts of others.
We complete with a closing mediation and allow ourselves to merge back into the world.
Our circle builds community, greater harmony with nature cycles, & self-knowing. The collective wisdom is profound. We withhold from ‘fixing’ each other; instead acknowledging and observing.
