Self-love cultivates relationship
Some reflections on self love. One to save for a reminder later 〰️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Self love is a cultivation of relationship. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Much like a living garden. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One with seasons and diverse elements.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In this garden, our trees and flowers and plants will have their times of blooming, fruiting, seeding and resting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The ideal living garden weaves these cycles together in a dynamic rhythm. One expression rests while another blooms. All parts of the cycle active at any one time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The trees, flowers and plants of a self love garden might look like:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Regular unconditional love practice⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Self-empathy through non-violent communication
- Healthy eating
- Restorative exercise ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Strengthening exercise⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Play⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Creative expression⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Quality time with friends & family⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Quality time with self⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Quality time with the earth⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Forgiveness practice⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Sleep⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Journalling⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- MIrror gazing⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Sharing circle time⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s not just one of these types of activities that weaves our self-love gardens through our cells.⠀⠀⠀
It’s a constellation of them - the ones that are just right for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
An ecology of elements tends to our self-love, sustaining it in different expression through all life’s highs and lows.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I’m curious. What are your regular self-love practices? What could you bring into the mix to help it be more potent?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When relationship with self-love is actively cultivated, it’s likely love relationships will be cultivated with all of life around you.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Blessed loving.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
